One of the most unique things about the Toledo Art Museum is that they have nice, movable chairs for you to sit in and gaze at the works of your choice. Here, Amanda gazes at an agriculturally themed 17th century Dutch or Flemish painting.
You know, now that you bring that up, I don’t think I’ve ever realized what a great feature that is, so under appreciated! - and now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve really ever seen that in any other museum. As a student it was so great to be able to settle down for a few hours in front of a piece to sketch, and as an employee it was nice to be on a break and take a chair into a gallery that didn’t get much foot traffic and just relax.
